OUR DADDY

Here's our Daddy Mike on Fathers day. We had Aunty Nikki send us a kukui nut lei for him. We're so proud of him and we love him bunches!

Our Daddy is so tough, that he makes hot pink look so manly! Tks Kuya.

OUR LITTLE BOO

Naia is turning 9 months old in a couple of days. She's one petite baby girl, people sometimes think she's much younger because of her size. She has a good appetite as long as I'm feeding her veggies. It is such a chore to feed her fruits and cereal. I recently discovered that rice cereal makes her constipated. It makes me wonder how she's gonna survive in this family if she can't digest rice very well.

She may be small, but all action. She's a cruiser!

It's important to look cute even when you're taking a nap.

Our little cruiser likes to go up and down the stairs on her own.

THE BIG BROTHERS

MJ just finished Kindergarten. Wow, time goes by really fast! He had a great start for his summer vacation, because his bestfriend visited from Georgia. He looks forward to 1st grade. We spend 30min each weekday either working on his journal writing or on Math equations. He loves doing this, I don't even have to TELL him to do it. MJ continues to be Nyle's boss and Naia's sweet big brother. He told me that when he grows up he wants to be a dentist and a pet store cashier. MJ's thoughts on marriage:
MJ: Mom, does the girl choose the boy or the boy choose the girl?
Mom: Either way... You can't force somebody if they don't want to marry you.
MJ: I hope Abby chooses me, I don't want to force her to marry me!

Nyle grew up a lot. During his 4th year check up, we learned that he grew three inches from last year. We're hoping he'll get accepted to the same Pre-K program that MJ went to. He likes to tell people that he is going to school soon. Nyle is really talkative and friendly. He concluded his Spring season soccer clinic a couple of weeks ago. He did much better this time. If MJ has precision, Nyle has speed. He tries to compete with MJ in everything. Nyle loves books as much as he loves watching his shows on TV. He's all boy and thinks that only girls wear pink. Mike who btw has more than one pink shirt was reprimanded by Nyle for wearing pink. He told his dad not to wear Mommy's shirts :D. He loves to sing and dance and play pretend. He is the clown in the family.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Our block was having a Memorial day party so we invited a few of our friends to join us.

Gramma Suzi even visited from the North to celebrate with us!

POOL TIME
Base pools opened in May. Here's some family time fun!

Tino boy's special day

one

two

three

four

Our little Tino turned 4 years old. We didn't have a party for him but he got all the toys in his wish list: Woody from Toy Story, cow boy costume, something Wolverine, something Transformer and a blue light saber.

We made a trip to Chuck E Cheese as soon as Mike came home from work.
This was Nyle's first mission when we got there, have his picture taken with Chuck E.

He did all the rides while MJ was busy earning tickets so he can get a toy for Nyle.

Naia showing off her outfit.

While her brothers were busy with games and rides, Naia was busy munching on celery.

Tokens all gone, the boys turned to the jungle gym.

I wanted to take a picture of the three of them but the only one I got was when Nyle was about to sneeze. Allergies! I bet it was from Chuck E.'s costume.

Back at home. Nyle does not like eating cake but likes to blow candles. So I got him a small cake from the comissary that me and MJ will eat later. He picked a batman candle to put on top of the cake. Since Nyle is allergic to dairy, we got Italian ice from Rita's, a local ice cream chain. Italian ice is very similar to Hawaiian shave ice. He loves this stuff.

He loves all his presents but especially love his cowboy costume and Woody(Boody as Nyle would say)

Nyle asked if he and Woody can watch Star Wars before he goes to sleep.

10 PM still wide a wake... he just woke up a few minutes ago> 1:30 AM, he told me he had a nightmare about Darth mole. Okay, no more Star Wars before bed time.

Our Rocky Gap Get Away

We decided to go an a mini-vacation during Mike's school break. We went to Cumberland, MD. Mike first visited this area with the BSA Troop and Church Youth back in 2007. Mike wanted to share the experience...we stayed in the resort area lodge in Rocky Gap, Flintstone.

Day 1

Check out the view from our room, MJ loved it.

The boys checked the beds' durability. Nyle discovered that the bed is perfect for dancing and jumping on.

We decided to explore the resort area.

Nyle couldn't wait to get in the pool.

We hit the bike trails. It was fun until the gnats decided to continually orbit us (especially MJ).

The Lake Habeeb Dam

Look at the size of that bumblebee...lots everywhere. Spring go figure.

Look how lush. We can just imagine how beautiful this place is during Autumn.

We ended our bike ride at the beach head closest to the lodge. It was pretty, peaceful, and relaxing.

Nyle of course doing what he does best.

TO THE POOL. Check out Naia in her very first bathing suit. We took a video of her in the water. I'll send it to family via email later. We had a lot of fun in the pool too bad that I didn't get to take any other pictures. We were amazed with how clean and nice the pool area was.

911---Paramedics--ER
After the pool we had a late dinner then went to bed. A little past midnight I woke up with a lot of pain in my body. The pain was comparable to the pain I felt in labor, at 8cm with Pitocin and without any epidural. It was so painful, I was having a hard time breathing. Mike had to call the paramedics. I was brought in to the ER. They gave me some pain meds, 4 hours later I was okay. The doctor didn't really find anything abnormal. Could it be that I spent a little bit over 15 minutes in the jaccuzi earlier?.... The boys were such good troopers. We never heard them once complain or whine that they had to be woken up and dragged to the hospital. We returned back to the hotel around 5 AM... sleep....ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Day2
Exploring Downtown Cumberland.

Canal Street

Downtown Cumberland...10 minutes from Rocky Gap.

Back to the lodge

Nyle getting in touch with nature.

Day 3
Mike woke up early to ride a longer trail. He took these pictures of the lake from our room.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad...steam engine #734; doing it since 1916.

At the Frostburg Depot. Waiting to board the train going back to Cumberland.

Despite of the whole ER incident, we had great fun. We look forward to the next road trip/vacation. Mike and I both agreed that we're getting to be pros with our packing and planning. Cheers!
