Our Rocky Gap Get Away

We decided to go an a mini-vacation during Mike's school break. We went to Cumberland, MD. Mike first visited this area with the BSA Troop and Church Youth back in 2007. Mike wanted to share the experience...we stayed in the resort area lodge in Rocky Gap, Flintstone.

Day 1

Check out the view from our room, MJ loved it.

The boys checked the beds' durability. Nyle discovered that the bed is perfect for dancing and jumping on.

We decided to explore the resort area.

Nyle couldn't wait to get in the pool.

We hit the bike trails. It was fun until the gnats decided to continually orbit us (especially MJ).

The Lake Habeeb Dam

Look at the size of that bumblebee...lots everywhere. Spring go figure.

Look how lush. We can just imagine how beautiful this place is during Autumn.

We ended our bike ride at the beach head closest to the lodge. It was pretty, peaceful, and relaxing.

Nyle of course doing what he does best.

TO THE POOL. Check out Naia in her very first bathing suit. We took a video of her in the water. I'll send it to family via email later. We had a lot of fun in the pool too bad that I didn't get to take any other pictures. We were amazed with how clean and nice the pool area was.

911---Paramedics--ER
After the pool we had a late dinner then went to bed. A little past midnight I woke up with a lot of pain in my body. The pain was comparable to the pain I felt in labor, at 8cm with Pitocin and without any epidural. It was so painful, I was having a hard time breathing. Mike had to call the paramedics. I was brought in to the ER. They gave me some pain meds, 4 hours later I was okay. The doctor didn't really find anything abnormal. Could it be that I spent a little bit over 15 minutes in the jaccuzi earlier?.... The boys were such good troopers. We never heard them once complain or whine that they had to be woken up and dragged to the hospital. We returned back to the hotel around 5 AM... sleep....ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Day2
Exploring Downtown Cumberland.

Canal Street

Downtown Cumberland...10 minutes from Rocky Gap.

Back to the lodge

Nyle getting in touch with nature.

Day 3
Mike woke up early to ride a longer trail. He took these pictures of the lake from our room.

Western Maryland Scenic Railroad...steam engine #734; doing it since 1916.

At the Frostburg Depot. Waiting to board the train going back to Cumberland.

Despite of the whole ER incident, we had great fun. We look forward to the next road trip/vacation. Mike and I both agreed that we're getting to be pros with our packing and planning. Cheers!

here Naia had enough with her brothers

Mike took a picture of his girls

here's our Easter family pic, thank you Brian!

Happy Easter everyone!!!

Good Times

Our good friends, the Galans came to visit MD. The boys had so much fun seeing their friends, Abby, Andrew and Avery again.

A few days ago, while the whole family was out bike riding, MJ had an accident. He had to have 2 stitches on his chin. He also has some bruises and scrapes on his elbows. He was pretty brave and only offered a couple of whimpers while he was stitched up. This sad face is because he didn't want me to take a picture of him for he was embarassed to have a bandage on his chin.

Look at this baby! Naia pulls hereslf up now to standing position.

No lizard has been harmed in the shooting of this picture.
I know it looks gross but I just had to post this. I hate this toy. Mike puts it in random places all the time just to scare me. For some reason it ended up in Naia's carseat.

Milestones

MJ is off the training wheels, yay!! He feels such a big boy now that he told me not to pick him up from the bus stop anymore.

Naia's starting to eat solid food now that she's 6 moths old. At first she didn't like eating her cereal, she'd rather nibble on the pita bread. Then she started liking the rice cereal so I introduced carrots in her diet. Making sure that she gets to try her veggies first, I gave her sweet potatoes a couple of days ago. Our poor baby has been constipated since then. It so sad seeing her trying to squeeze one out but to no avail. So tomorrow it's gonna be apple sauce, hopefully that will help. As long as she's not trying to poop she's still as happy as can be. Here are some latest pictures of our baby at the start of Spring.

I've been learning a lot of fun stuff with Nyle. Thanks to Conn and Hal Iggulden's The Dangerous Book for Boys. I've made the world's best paper airplanes, boat and water bomb. I've also been transforming a lot of robots. Well this has been a milestone for me, I finally can transform a Transformer by myself from robot to vehicle and vice versa. Well they're the for 5-7 years, anything for 7 years and up I'm still trying to figure out. Here are some pictures of Tino boy in action:

Grand-Papa Ron was here!

Papa Ron save a bunch of money by switching to Geico :D, so he came to see us! Thank you, Geico!!

We haven't seen him since we left Hawaii

The boys enjoyed playing legos and hide and seek with Granpa

first time meeting baby Naia

We had great fun with Grandpa Ron and we look forward to him coming back.

Here are some new pictures I took of the boys and baby:

As you can see Naia is such a ham. Nyle loves his pictures taken but he can't keep still. MJ cooperates but tells me that he'd rather be behind the camera.

Spring is here, we're looking forward to soccer season and cherry blossoms.

Another Snow day

Excuse my lateness this was from a week ago but I only have time today to post. We had the biggest snow ever since we moved here. I had the opportunity to enjoy it with the boys since Mike still has to stay in the sidelines. We had so much fun. Even if we're looking forward for Spring we won't mind one more big snow.

Mommy with the kiddos

one, two, three.. Go!

This is so much fun, we didn't have this in the Philippines :)!

MJ and I were making snow angels, then Mike reminded us that a few feet away is where our neighbor's big dog dumps humongous poop.. ewww!

I tried to make a snowman only to disappoint my boys :(. Sorry kiddos, we don't make those where I come from.
